Many Viet women are taught to cook before getting married because it is a must, otherwise no one wants to get married to you. Many Viet women is required “to sacrify” in order to be labeled “good woman”. Many Viet women should not receive gifts/ $$$ as it means you are not independent enough.

At 27, I was so eager to fight. At 27, I was so eager to clear whether it should be black-white, to claim a title of a good Vietnamese.

At 33, I reckon if you are good enough, you do not need a validation. I heard thousands of Viet taking advantage on others, various mind games are played. At the same time, I watched heaps of case in which moms love the kids recklessly; another woman say about her 10-year love with adorable smiling eyes. These women taught what real good one means

At 33, I reckon materialistic does not define your personality. Out of my surprise, I got offered to be taken care way more than before 30s: a paid trip to concerts that I like; $$$ hit the bank account on one morning I woke up. I used to be fed up on too much that you need to earn respect from 50-50. These gestures never match up what I had taught before. Note: none sexual photos were sent, btw.

At 33, I reckon I tend to be surprised with bad stories about Viet as I have been surrounded by too many amazing Viet women: my own mother, the parents, female friends. You do not need to be masculine being independent. You do not need to match people standard to define as a good one.

At 33, I could say I am proud to be a Viet woman!
